Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share a quick update with you as they finish our other final samples. Here is a photo of the Space Gray Aluminum adapters before they send them out:

 They will be sending us the remaining samples at the end of this week so we should be in production on the remaining adapters around Monday, 8/24.

Shipping Finalization

It appears that many of you did not receive the shipping finalization email from BackerKit. This appears to be a bug with their software and we are passing this information along to them so it doesn't happen again for us or other campaign creators. Production!

Hi Everyone!

I am excited to share some great news with you! We received our samples in today and they are working great! These samples, the Silver Anodized Aluminum adapters, have a great finish to match the Apple Watch Sport and have a nice and snug fit with extremely little to no play at all. The watch bands are snugly fitting and the adapter is nice and secure when in the watch. Here are some photos to check out!

** Note: please keep in mind that the lighting used to take the photos appears to have cast a few dark shadow streaks on the adapters. Those streaks are not present on the metal, it is just caused by the photo lighting

We will be starting production on both the 38mm and 42mm Silver Aluminum adapters Monday morning (8/17)! We are right on track for our September 11-14 shipping estimates! When we receive the other samples this week, we will publish more photos for you all to view!

Clarity About Stainless Steel

In the previous update, we posted about the "plating" problem that was being rectified. I wanted to further clarify, as this seems to have caused some confusion about our Stainless Steel adapters. When I was referring to plating, I meant the outer finish on the adapters. A better word for this would be polish rather than plating. Our stainless adapters are solid 316 stainless steel (as per Apple's suggested material guidelines). It IS NOT another metal core plated in stainless steel.

I apologize for this miscommunication and any confusion it may have caused.

Samples

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to share another quick update with you, letting you know that we are still on track to begin shipping orders out September 11-14. As per our last update, Our sample units shipped out to us Wednesday, August 12 and are scheduled for delivery tomorrow, August 14. Here are some close up images they sent just before packing them:

Production

Once we verify the units tomorrow, we will be placing the deposit down for production to begin. This puts us right on track to begin production Monday, August 17 - Keeping to our schedule to begin shipping September 11-14. 

You may be wondering, where are the images of the Stainless Steel and Space Gray Aluminum samples? During QA testing before the samples were sent out, the manufacturer found that the plating was not consistent around the entire adapter. They are having those replated and sent out to us early next week (week of August 17). This should not have an effect on our timelines, as we will begin production on all the Silver Anodized aluminum adapters first, and then begin manufacturing the various other adapters a few days following Monday, August 17.

Shipping Addresses

We sent out the 48-hour notice for shipping addresses to be locked down. If you still need to change your address and did not get a chance to do so before this, please contact us directly via messages, email ([email protected]), or our support page at support.get-click.com and we can manually update your address information.

Update on Samples

Hello All:

I'm getting back into the swing of things from being out with pneumonia for the past ten days, but I have been in constant daily contact with our factories on production progress. Here are some hard dates for everyone:

Adapters

Our current samples are sitting in a limbo state at US Customs. We have not received any updates on them for the past several days. As I have been working for the past few days with the carrier to figure that out, our manufacturer is rushing another batch out to us for next week. They will ship out to us next Friday and arrive Monday morning. We will be verifying them on Monday and beginning production that day. 

The manufacturer has given us a three week timeline for the initial batch to come out to us. Given this, we are targeting September 11-14 for the first batches to ship out to you. We will ship on a weekly rolling basis as units come in like we talked about previously.

Shipping Addresses

We will be sending out an email via BackerKit to all of you next week Friday to finalize your shipping information. This should give you ample time to change and update information as needed. Feel free to reach out to us if you need any assistance with this process.

Quick Update

Hi Everyone,

There really isn't much to update you all on. Things are moving along as planned and talked about in the past update from 7/8. Here's the breakdown:

Samples

Samples are in production and we will have them two weeks from now. This fits into the two to three week window we allowed for and we are working with the manufacturer to send updated photos of sample production so that we can curve any issues they may have (none so far) before they get to us.

We also had them ship out some components to test this past Friday, which means we should have them today or tomorrow. This will allow us to test the quality and function in parallel to sample production, further speeding up the process.

Watch Bands

Watch bands are nearing the end of their production. All of the stainless steel and sport leather bands will be completed and shipped for the end of this month. The classic leather bands will be completed August 10, but we are going to work with our watch band producer to get them shipped in batches so that we can begin to assemble them in packaging sooner rather than waiting for the whole batch.

For the watch bands, we will also be including an additional pair of spring bars with each one. We want to insure that you are using quality/tested spring bars with them.

Packaging

All adapter packaging is in and we have been working to do the pre-assembly steps on all of those. By doing the initial assembly now, we will save a lot of time when packaging adapters. This will allow us to ship faster when adapters come in.

We are finalizing watch band packaging now and placing an order for that this week. Packaging takes about a week to finish, so it will all be in before any watch bands arrive.
